Health
Targeted interventions are a very important component of the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP). These interventions provide an opportunity to provide comprehensive and integrated HIV prevention as well as care and support services to extremely marginalized high-risk groups such as Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), Transgender (TG), etc.
Deepshikha Samiti provides HIV prevention and care and support services to these groups (those who are infected) in a very user-friendly manner, i.e., at the most convenient place and time for the community and they can easily access these services without any fear of stigma and discrimination. We have been working in the areas around Mangolpuri, Sultanpuri and Rohini in Delhi for the last 20 years. So far, we have served more than 6 thousand KPs and brought them out of high risk to safe practice.
Health
Deepshikha Samiti has been running a virtual intervention website for transgender and MSM queer people for the last 4 years in which they are providing services to queer people who make friends on social networking sites by hiding their identity and maintain relationships with them so that they can be protected from STDs and HIV AIDS.

Gender
Deepshikha Samiti, in collaboration with Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), has been running the Mahila Panchayat programme in the Jaffrabad area of Northeast district of Delhi for the past 8 years. The programme tackles the grave issue of gender discrimination, domestic violence against women in the community, where social stigma often silences victims. Despite the challenges of social stigma and limited awareness, Deepshikha Samiti’s Mahila Panchayat programme has visibly empowered women in Jaffrabad.
The programme not only breaks the silence around violence against women but also empowers them to seek justice. Deepshikha Samiti plays a vital role by connecting these women to government support programmes and legal aid, ensuring they have the resources they need to deal with their situations. Through the programme, we have built a network of support within the community that includes over 100 women and so far, the organisation has worked with over 5,000 women to provide support on gender-based and domestic violence.
